If you’re an NCC journeyperson with an ambition to lead positive change in our industry, this is the career development opportunity you’ve been looking for. The Carpenters’ Union has recognized “Next Level Leaders” as those who consistently coach, mentor and motivate others, while taking on a leadership role on the job. Empowering the true foundation of the UBC, 212 Leaders seeks those that have cultivated their personal leadership style and are ready for the next step in their career path. We’d like to invest in you and support your commitment leadership.
Who Attends
Ideal participants are journeypersons who pursue high-level communication skills, leadership characteristics, and have been active in the development of their Brothers and Sisters in the field.
All attendees must:
Be a journeyperson member in good standing, who has completed UBC Journey Level: Building Leadership for a Strong Future and has not taken this course before.
Have shown an increase in leadership activities since completing the Journey Level Program.
Be a working member with continuously high work hours
Not be on staff of any related entity
Be recommended to the program by a Council Representative or Employer
Have a valid passport for travel to the USA.
What Will Happen
After 4 intensive days at this all-expenses-paid career development experience in Las Vegas you’ll come away with more formalized leadership skills in conflict management, education, culture and economics. With a focus on constructing and building UBC relationships on the jobsite, participants will be introduced to business finance cause and effect, emotional intelligence for UBC Leaders, adult learning principles, and how to manage healthy conflict. 212 Leadership pairs world-class leadership development with the deep passion of our members who are committed to supporting positive change within our industries.
How Much Does It Cost
It is our intention that you have no out-of-pocket expenses. We book and pay for your economy class airfare including the fee for 1 checked bag, plus room and board at the International Training Centre, and you’ll receive an additional $250 stipend plus an Education Grant of $1000 after completing the program. This compensation serves to cover any small expenses as well as lost wages while traveling.
Where You’ll Stay
The UBC hosts all the members at the 1 million square foot International Training Centre in Las Vegas. The accommodation, dining, and training are all provided on site.
Application Process
The NCC team will do all the booking for you including flight and accommodation once you’ve been accepted into the training.
