The NCC is committed to providing the members work necessary to achieve your goals. We manage all construction trade labour requirements by offering a multi-discipline solution. Working closely with each client we set mutually agreed upon goals, then measure, manage and course correct as necessary to ensure success.  

Let’s look at some of the major projects NCC members are building across Canada, and the new opportunities coming up. 

Currently Underway

  • Mills Memorial Hospital redevelopment project in Terrace, British Columbia with PCL.  

  • In partnership with Chinook Scaffold Systems, supplying scaffolding members to Chinook Scaffold Systems in Alberta.   

  • In partnership with Brock Industrial projects, members work in Alberta and Saskatchewan on numerous project sites.  

  • Site scaffolding for Graham Construction on Air Products Site. 

  • In Partnership with Soogadin, doing maintenance work on the CNRL site, all scopes. 

  • Dow and Air Products in the Edmonton area, Alberta, producing low-carbon hydrogen for industrial and transportation use. PLA is signed, first contracts coming out for bid after Final Investment Decision (FID) end of Nov 2023  

  • The Teslin Bridge replacement project in Teslin, Yukon Territory with Graham Construction, installing precast concrete segments to improve the safety and reliability of this essential crossing.

In Development

  • CF 18 Hangar expansion in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories for the Canadian Air Force. PCL will have boots on the ground April 2024, PLA being negotiated, 25-30 members. 

  • PCL has submitted their budget for the Northshore Wastewater Treatment Plant in North Vancouver, British Columbia and will know by year end if they are the chosen contractor.   

  • Servco submitted a bid on the 5 year SaskPower maintenance contract, with support from NCC that improves their offer without affecting workers wages or benefits. 

  • NCC filed a certification application regarding a new vessel shop for Cessco Fabrication. This is currently at the labour board, votes are sealed, will be opened once all challenges are settled at Alberta Labour Relations Board. This is a Mechanical/Welding based craft group. 

  • Matcon Group is bidding work at Parkland refinery in BC with an NCC Collective Agreement 

  • Gisborne Group is short listed on Marathon Gold Project in NFLD, which if successful will bring work for 250-300 members. All scopes. 

  • Gisborne Group bidding work in Northern SK, 80-120 workers, All scopes. 

  • ARC Energy cross-Canada multidisciplinary bargaining unit for Small Modular Reactors (SMRs), a new type of nuclear power plant that can provide clean and reliable energy to remote communities and industries.
