3rd Year Apprentice Program: Helping Build Our Industries

Let Us Invest In You

The UBC recognizes that apprentices who’ve reached their third year of training are tomorrow’s leaders, on and off the jobsite. You’ve proven your skill, dedication, and professionalism. To fully support your career growth, we’re offering you a powerful leadership training opportunity at the International Training Centre (ITC). You’ll tour this state-of-the art facility in person, learn more about the UBC and our vision for the future, hear directly from union Officers and contractors, and network with 3rd year apprentices from other locals across Canada and the USA. This is not technical training – there’s no shop time and you won’t be on the tools. This is big picture, all the way. After 3 days at this all-expenses-paid experience in Las Vegas, you’ll come away inspired by your union and motivated to further your career in our industry, with new knowledge, friends and connections that will help power your career as far as it can go.

How Much Does It Cost?

It is our intention that you have no out-of-pocket expenses. We book and pay for your economy class airfare including the fee for 1 checked bag, plus room and board at the International Training Centre, and you’ll receive an additional $250 stipend plus an Education Grant of $1000 after completing the program. This compensation serves to cover any small expenses as well as lost wages while traveling.

Who Attends

There are 180 3rd year apprentices in each session, from across Canada and the United States. The NCC has five seats available for each of the 3 sessions offered. Secure one of them for yourself!
