SISTERS IN THE SKILLED TRADES Apprenticeship Funding
Let Us Invest In You
Funding applications are now open for all 2024 blocks of trades training for UBC women apprentices in a red seal trade in good standing.
There are currently 27 funding spaces available for the March/April intake (applications close Feb 1), and 29 spaces for the May/June intake.
What Funding is Available?
Qualified applicants may be eligible for the following supports:
Up to $390 for texts, tools and PPE required by the training institution.
Up to $40/day travel allowance based on km’s to/from school and the gov’t provincial rate.
Up to $60/day child or dependent care reimbursement.
Up to $800 per student for temporary long-distance rental.
Up to $320 per student tutoring reimbursement available to 100 students.
These funds will not remove all costs associated with trades training, but they will significantly reduce out of pocket expenses while on EI.
This funding is available until January 2027 and can be used once per apprentice.
