Work Ready

For Employers

Once your employees have joined the National Construction Council, we are accountable for training them in your required skills and certifications. We guarantee that all workers meet the qualifications, standards, and requirements for every project by providing cutting-edge curriculum and custom programs to meet specific needs for every project. NCC will also train prospective members sourced for an NCC signatory contractor’s job in fulfillment of our job-ready workforce promise. The training that the NCC provides for our members creates a discernible increase in productivity for our partners. We’re pleased to announce the roll-out of a new online training request form that makes it easier for members and contractors to request training and to file reimbursement requests.

For Members

The National Construction Council is committed to providing you with the training you need to succeed in your construction career. Whether that’s apprenticeship training, certifications, or leadership training, we provide what you need to be the best. While on an NCC project, all recertifications not otherwise covered by your home local are covered by the NCC.

NCC has developed a common list of “Work Ready” training classifications and certifications that members should present prior to dispatch. They are required for all members, from apprentice to journeyperson. Please present your tickets to your local training centre or email to byoung@ubcja.ca for uploading. They are:

  • WHMIS - GHS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System Globally Harmonized System) also known as WHIMS 2015

  • Fall Protection

  • First Aid

  • Confined Space

  • Aerial Lift/Elevated Work Platform

  • Respectful Workplace Training

NCC Work Ready certifications are prerequisites for programs at the United Brotherhood of Carpenters International Training Center (ITC) in Las Vegas, including the CITF Superintendent Career Training.
